Just like with the North support, we can see kneeling boys dressed in simple clothing holding up the bottom of the sarcophagus. Each support had two pairs of kneeling boys facing away from each other. The inner and outer sides of the support had the boys separated by a scrollwork design, while the ends were separated by small columns topped with simply decorated capitals. The images themselves were directly carved into a solid slab of white marble, and there does not appear to be evidence of the support having been glued together, like those of the sarcophagus of Empress Constance.
