Built on the grounds of a mosque, its architecture truly reflects Islamic traditions characterized by the bulbous red domes. The domes are divided among themselves in size and are placed at different heights and arranged according to the scheme of the church. The highest dome plays the role of the bell tower: this represents a classic example of adaptation of an Arab mosque in service of the Christian religion.<br \/>\nModern Province: (PA) Palermo<br \/>\nModern Town: Palermo<\/p>\n"},"caption":{"rendered":"<p>Arab-Inspired Red Domes<\/p>\n"},"alt_text":"","media_type":"image","mime_type":"image\/jpeg","media_details":{"width":600,"height":450,"file":"2013\/03\/P7080146.jpg","sizes":{"thumbnail":{"file":"P7080146-150x150.jpg","width":150,"height":150,"mime_type":"image\/jpeg","source_url":"https:\/\/www.envisioningnormansicily.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/P7080146-150x150.jpg"},"medium":{"file":"P7080146-300x225.jpg","width":300,"height":225,"mime_type":"image\/jpeg","source_url":"https:\/\/www.envisioningnormansicily.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/P7080146-300x225.jpg"},"slider-thumb":{"file":"P7080146-600x395.jpg","width":600,"height":395,"mime_type":"image\/jpeg","source_url":"https:\/\/www.envisioningnormansicily.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/P7080146-600x395.jpg"},"blog-thumb":{"file":"P7080146-600x300.jpg","width":600,"height":300,"mime_type":"image\/jpeg","source_url":"https:\/\/www.envisioningnormansicily.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/P7080146-600x300.jpg"},"teaser-thumb":{"file":"P7080146-332x205.jpg","width":332,"height":205,"mime_type":"image\/jpeg","source_url":"https:\/\/www.envisioningnormansicily.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/P7080146-332x205.jpg"},"gallery-1-thumb":{"file":"P7080146-432x432.jpg","width":432,"height":432,"mime_type":"image\/jpeg","source_url":"https:\/\/www.envisioningnormansicily.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/P7080146-432x432.jpg"},"gallery-2-thumb":{"file":"P7080146-268x268.jpg","width":268,"height":268,"mime_type":"image\/jpeg","source_url":"https:\/\/www.envisioningnormansicily.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/P7080146-268x268.jpg"},"gallery-3-thumb":{"file":"P7080146-268x164.jpg","width":268,"height":164,"mime_type":"image\/jpeg","source_url":"https:\/\/www.envisioningnormansicily.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/P7080146-268x164.jpg"},"video-thumb":{"file":"P7080146-600x393.jpg","width":600,"height":393,"mime_type":"image\/jpeg","source_url":"https:\/\/www.envisioningnormansicily.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/P7080146-600x393.jpg"},"full":{"file":"P7080146.jpg","width":600,"height":450,"mime_type":"image\/jpeg","source_url":"https:\/\/www.envisioningnormansicily.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/P7080146.jpg"}},"image_meta":{"aperture":4.5,"credit":"","camera":"C5060WZ","caption":"","created_timestamp":1120796670,"copyright":"","focal_length":"8.7","iso":"80","shutter_speed":"0.0015625","title":"Another Shot of the Domes of the Monastery of St. John the Hermit, Palermo"}},"post":424,"source_url":"https:\/\/www.envisioningnormansicily.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/P7080146.jpg","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.envisioningnormansicily.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/media\/843"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.envisioningnormansicily.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/media"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.envisioningnormansicily.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/attachment"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.envisioningnormansicily.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.envisioningnormansicily.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=843"}]}}
